Benedikt Howedes is set to miss at least a month of action after Juventus confirmed the defender has a serious setback following his latest injury.

The German defender finally made his Juve debut, putting in a good shift in the Bianconeri’s 3-0 victory over Crotone, however he has since suffered a setback.

Juventus have since confirmed that Howedes has been diagnosed with a serious setback, a lesion to the right thigh muscle which “necessitates an extended stop with possible return not before the Christmas break – The timing will be better ascertained over the next few weeks.”

The centre-back has suffered a string of injuries since arriving in Turin and it’s looking unlikely that Juve will exercise their option on the player who turns 30 in February.
