Gonzalo Higuain looks increasingly more likely to return to River Plate if the Serie A season doesn’t resume.
The Argentine striker returned to his homeland to be with his sick mother and has yet to return to Turin with reports suggesting he wanted to remain in Argentina.
His father Jorge Higuain was quoted as saying his son would return to Italy and see out the remainder of the remaining year on his Juventus contract.
La Stampa report that Pipita has been in talks with River Plate management during his time in Argentina over a prospective return to the club that launched his career.
The paper also suggests that if the Serie A season resumes, he’ll return and see out the remainder of the campaign before making the move back to Argentina to join River.
