Juventus have been linked with a last-minute transfer deal for Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng.

With Giorgio Chiellini likely to be sidelined for anything up to six months, Juve were expected to rely on Leonardo Bonucci, Merih Demrial, Matthijs De Ligt and Daniele Rugani.

German paper BILD now reports that the Bianconeri are on the verge of agreeing a deal for veteran German international Boateng, who is not expected to feature for Bayern this season.

They go so far as to say the defender missed Bayern’s training session today and was absent for the teams annual photoshoot.

There’s no clear indication of whether he would join on loan or if it would be an outright sale, but the suggestion is the 31-year-old is being sought as an experienced defender to play in place of Chiellini.

Less reliable Italian papers Tuttosport and CalcioMercato are also reporting the potential move but there’s no word yet from the likes of Sky Sport Italia.
