Juventus held talks with agent Alessandro Lucci in Milan yesterday with a view to renewing the contract of Leonardo Bonucci.
The defender was the subject of much transfer speculation this summer with Manchester United and Manchester City believed to be interested in signing the versatile centre-back.
Bonucci reportedly rejected an offer from City earlier this summer to remain in Turin; A move that would have doubled his current Juve salary.
Sky Sport Italia now report that Juve met with Lucci to begin talks over a renewal of his existing deal which expires in 2020.

A great move by the club and a great show of solidarity from a man who has always displayed an unwavering commitment to Juventus, even in turbulent times. When the transfer talk hit its peak this summer, Bonucci posted a video stating simply: “Looking forward to starting a new season in black and white” – Pay the man, pay him what he wants.
In a time where money seems to be the main motivator behind everything football related, it’s nice to see a guy who could earn considerably more some place else just say ‘no’.
Bonucci is one of those guys who says what he means, and means what he says.
That BBC relationship took fine tuning and years of work and effort – I’m pleased he’s not going to walk away from that and from the club that loves him, just for the sake of money.
Clubs should reward loyalty. Maybe it will help reduce the influence of parasitic agents like The Devil!
Well done for staying and resisting EPL £ Leo.
Great that for some, loyalty counts more than cash. Grande Leo, may you soon win yourself a cup with big ears for all your efforts.
