Juventus are working a contract extension for Alex Sandro which will keep him at the club until at least 2022.
The Brazilian full-back has been one of the most consistent performers this season and Juve are keen to extend his existing deal which ends in 2020 in an effort to ward off interest from Manchester City and a host of other clubs.
Goal.com Juve correspondent Romeo Agresti reports that the Bianconeri are preparing to extend Sandro’s deal in the coming months and that an agreement in principle has already been reached. The left-back would earn €4m per season in the revised contract extension, keeping him in Turin until at least 2022.
When recently asked by Corriere dello Sport about interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea, the 26-year-old what emphatic about his future:
“My future? I only care about Juventus. I don’t care about anything but doing well in this shirt. I’m here and I’m staying put.”
Thats the kind of language I like from a player! No nonsense and no unclear muttering, stating what he wants
Indeed, and I think a lot of players are frightened to say these things as they believe the clubs will offer smaller contracts if they know the player wants to stay.
Probably so, on advice of their agents. I understand the reasoning behind it but god, it is so tedious reading the same comments over and over. “Joining X is fulfilling my dream” for example. They all say that phrase when they join a new team and I think most don’t even mean it
I just love Sandro. A perfect player. We are different without him. Weaker for sure.
Just a small note. If we get eliminated by this Barca side having a 3 0 lead we are not good enough. My sincere toughts are that we will win even on their soil. WE HAVE NOTHING LESS THAN ANY OTHER EUROPEAN TEAM. WE ARE THERE WITH THE BEST. WE MUST FIGHT AND WIN. On Sandro he is a top player in a top team.
