New signing Mario Lemina revealed he heard about Juve’s interest in him by watching TV and that he ‘couldn’t turn Juventus down!’

“I am very happy to have joined Juve, as it’s the biggest club in Italy and the chance for me to prove my quality on the international stage,” the 22-year-old midfielder  told RMC Sport.

“I first found out about the interest from the Bianconeri by watching TV. My agent had done it all by himself before then and he informed me when we were close to formalising a deal. I couldn’t turn Juventus down!

“My time at Marseille wasn’t always easy. The club had to sell big players to balance the books and Marcelo Bielsa’s departure was a heavy blow for many players, including me. I never understood why it went that way.”

Lemina also touched on his first conversations with coach Max Allegri after arriving in Turin.

“He didn’t need to reassure me on my role, I know that he likes the way I play and he’ll help me improve further. Serie A is very tactical and a difficult League. I know that I must work a lot before having a spot in the starting XI.

“I am very happy to be Pogba’s teammate, as I’ve known him since we were together in the France youth teams. It’s great to see his daily improvement and I hope to be like him one day.”
