Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent has revealed that the Portuguse star told him he wanted to join Juventus in January.
CR7 ultimately signed a contract with the Bianconeri in July but agent Jorge Mendes has revealed that negotiations were underway well before then.
“The merit for the deal goes to Juventus and its president,” revealed Mendes when accepting his award for Agent of the Year at Golden Boy ceremony.
“The decision was taken by the Juventus management. Florentino Pérez? It was a normal situation.
“In January, Cristiano told me he wanted to play at Juventus, and I thought it was completely impossible.
“It was the first time that we talked about a situation of this size.
“‘There’s nothing impossible, but it’s very difficult,’ I replied. Then there was a first meeting with Paratici and Nedved before the Champions League match against Real Madrid in Turin.
“Later I spoke with President Agnelli. How long did the negotiation lasted? Two-three months … “
