Miralem Pjanic has a Grade 1-2 thigh strain as confirmed by Juve’s official website and will undergo further checks.

The midfielder was named in the starting XI for last night’s Champions League match against Olympiacos, however he was injured in the warm-up. Rodrigo Bentancur went on to take his place and delivered a superb performance as the Bianconeri beat the Greek Champion’s 2-0.

Juventus have since announced the midfielder is out of action for the foreseeable future and will miss this weekends trip to Bergamo to face Atalanta.

Club Statement

“Miralem Pjanic underwent medical checks this morning that revealed a strain of the quadriceps muscle in his right thigh, sustained during the warm-up session just before kick-off of yesterday’s Champions League match against Olympiakos.

“Initial examinations suggest it is a Grade 1-2 strain, but the midfielder will undergo further checks in order to set a clearer timescale for his return to action.”
