Serie A – Week 34 [Saturday, 2nd May – 17:00 GMT] –  Stadio Luigi Ferraris

Juventus beat Sampdoria 1-0 to secure their 4th consecutive Serie A title !

The Bianconeri only needed a point to seal the Scudetto but Sampdoria were unbeaten at home this season, despite suffering a slump that saw them without a win in their last 6 matches.

Juve coach Max Allegri had one eye on next weeks Champions Leaue semi-final against Real Madrid and chose to rest Andrea Pirlo, Giorgio Chiellini and Alvaro Morata while Patrice Evra was suspended and Paul Pogba sat out the game through injury.

Sampdoria were looking to spoil Juve’s Scudetto party and Roberto Soriano put his shot over the bar just 30 seconds after the start of the game before Pedro Obiang blazed his shot across the face of goal.

Samuel Eto’o managed to get a head to a cross from Djamel Mesbah but it wasn’t enough to get any power on the ball while Stefano Sturaro had his shot charged down by Matias Silvestre after some good footwork in the box.

Arturo Vidal found space to get a shot away but it was straight at Viviano. Juve continued to push forward in numbers and the pressure finally paid off when Stephan Lichtsteiner whipped in wicked cross for Vida who headed over Viviano and inside off the far post.

Muriel’s free kick flashed across the face of goal before Soriano put his angled drive past the far post.
