Juventus have a two goal advantage but can’t afford to take any chances when they host Porto in the second-leg of the Champions League last 16.
March 13, 2017 - 21:18Juve left it late but a first goal for Marko Pjaca and Dani Alves’ superb finish gave the Bianconeri a 2-0 away victory and a huge advantage heading back to Turin.
February 23, 2017 - 10:19Juan Cuadrado, Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic, Gonzalo Higuain and Miralem Pjanic will start for Juventus, but Leonardo Bonucci will watch the Bianconeri’s Champions League match against Porto from the stands.
February 21, 2017 - 19:58Juve went down to 10 men but a superb solo effort from Juan Cuadrado was enough to snatch all 3 points and maintain a lead at the top of Group H in the Champions League.
October 19, 2016 - 10:55Juventus head into the last group match of the Champions League knowing that victory will guarantee them top spot in Group H.
December 7, 2016 - 7:19I despised Sevilla after our first encounter earlier this season. Not just Sampaoli’s face and psuedo menacing posturing in the tightest shirt of his wardrobe,…
November 23, 2016 - 11:03An entertaining match all round, with Lyon leaving Turin with a very hard fought and ultimately deserved point. A decent european night for the neutral, and the french, not so great for the fans in black and white, at least on the basis of the second half showing…
November 3, 2016 - 10:23Juventus will be looking to guarantee a place in the last-16 of the Champions League with victory over Lyon
November 1, 2016 - 19:04We meet again. Two years after our last encounter with Les Gones, a game, which saw the Old Lady go through thanks to a Samuel Umtiti own goal.
October 18, 2016 - 15:54A 0-4 away victory in the champions league is a fine result, regardless of the very average nature of our opponents.
September 28, 2016 - 11:40Our lead-up to this opening fixture of european competition was generally positive yet very much fragmented.
September 15, 2016 - 12:06Sitting in my den of iniquity, the daylight gaining brightness and seeping through the rips in the curtains, I looked upon the entirety of extra time with my heart sinking with every passing second.
March 17, 2016 - 11:25After Allegri’s decision of switching to a back-line of four defenders, he made it clear that something drastic was necessary to win and ultimately join Atletico Madrid–who seem favorites to finish first–in advancing from the group stages.
Juventus came out of the gates extremely hungry, hardly allowing Olympiacos to any possession with the ball. The midfield was incredible, but there was still the obvious lack of creativity and a pulled trigger in the opposition’s final third. Between Tevez, Marchisio, Vidal, Morata, etc there were a number of chances that could’ve seen the Bianconeri take a comfortable lead after the first 45 minutes, but it was not until Juve won a free kick in a perfect area for Italian legend, Andrea Pirlo to make his mark. After stepping up to take the spot kick, it was not long until the ball went over the wall, past Roberto and hit the back of the net with immense velocity. The score was 1-0 in Juventus’ favor after the 21st minute, but much was still to come for the Gobbi.
November 4, 2014 - 22:30I remain in a state of recovery. Still my blood feels alive with war and battle, my body tired yet my spirit a flame, for we witnessed a true marvel when the Germans came to town.
February 24, 2016 - 15:49My preparations for this match have been perfect. After crawling out of bed to find my youngest niece, beloved…
March 15, 2016 - 10:53Juventus will be without Giorgio Chiellini and Alex Sandro for the first leg of their Champions League match against Bayern Munich
February 22, 2016 - 21:12We get the lowdown on Bayern Munich from blogger Michel Munger ahead of Juve’s Champions League match against the German champions.
February 20, 2016 - 13:07The time has finally come to exorcise the demons of last year’s Champions League campaign. Last year’s run, ending in the group stage as we all know, has been a sore point for all Juventini. We’ve used it to argue about the old coach, other fans have used it to abuse us – though to be fair, this was usually done as Juve crushed the fans’ respective teams in Serie A action – and it’s been haunting all of us as we know that Juventus are one of the better sides in Europe, and we know that we can and have done better on the European stage in the past. Like, for example, the previous season’s run to the quarter finals. But that was then, this is now, and we have a new campaign with new group stage opponents: Atletico Madrid, FF Malmo, and Olympiakos. It’s quite a fitting group for the Champions League, as all four teams are reigning champions of their respective leagues.
September 15, 2014 - 20:40Juventus only needed a point for their game in Sevilla but it was ex-Biaconeri striker Fernando Llorente who made the difference on the night
December 9, 2015 - 8:32Juventus only need a point to guarantee top-spot in Group D while Sevilla need at least a win to qualify for the Europa League
