Juventus are interested in signing Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez, who has a release clause of €60m.

The Bianconeri are well stocked in defence, but may look to bolster the back-line despite the impending renewals of Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are interested in 23-year-old Gimenez but they’ll face competition from Premier League sides such as Manchester United where coach Jose Mourinho has earmarked the Uruguayan as long-term defensive signing.

Juve may hold a slight edge, despite the €60m release clause, and could include Daniele Rugani in any potential deal. It’s reported that Atleti are also interested in Rodrigo Bentancur, however the Bianconeri are not prepared to part with the youngster.
